Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, addressed the Corporate Clients and the Bank employees in a glittering ceremony on the occasion of Centenary Celebrations organized by Central Bank of India at Mumbai. He congratulated Central Bank of India for having rendered illustrious service to its customers and the Nation for the past 100 years. The Chief Minister referred that Central Bank of India has always been pioneer of very many banking products, process and now the Bank has been adjudged as the 4th most trusted bank in India.
Shri Chavan acknowledged the role of Central Bank of India in the State of Maharashtra where the Bank holds about 25% of its total volume of business through the 533 branches in the State. He also recorded his happiness that Central Bank of India on a Pan India level, could complete coverage of 3714 villages identified under the Financial Inclusion programme which is the priority of the Nation. He also recorded that the Bank is now offering technology based solutions in enhancing customer satisfaction through its close to 4000 branches across the length and breadth of the country.
Shri Mohan V Tanksale, Chairman & Managing Director, Central Bank of India welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prithviraj Chavan and recorded that Bank has travelled through an illustrious path of achievements and pioneering products. Pochkhanawalla had founded this Bank as a people friendly Bank and the Bank continues to be a modern, efficient and people friendly institution. On 21.12.2011 the Centenary Function day, the Bank declared open 100 new branches and also launched online remittance facility to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the Net Banking Customers.
On this occasion the Bank has inaugurated 100 ATMS, Flagging off of “Granthali Grantha Yatra” and also extended a Certificate to Gram Pradhan of Sangvi Mohadi Village for pioneering Vidarbha Model of Financial inclusion with 0% default of loans.
The former Chairpersons and the Captains of the Bank were facilitated at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister. Smt.V.R.Iyer and Shri R.K.Dubey, Executive Directors of the Bank thanked the customers who were present at the function.
