Central Bank Officers’ Association, Andhra Pradesh has issued its circular No. 12 dated 14.03.2012 on the meetings conducted at Hyderabad and Vijayawada on the visit of Mr. A.R. Saifullah, General Secretary, All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation. We are placing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO. : GS : 2012 : 012                                Date: 14.03.2012

TO ALL OFFICERS                                                                                                                          PLEASE CIRCULATE

Dear Friends,

MEETINGS CONDUCTED AT HYDERABAD AND VIJAYAWADA – THUNDEROUS SUCCESS

You are aware that general meetings of the Officers have been arranged at Hyderabad on 10th March 2012 and Vijayawada on 11th March 2012 on the visit of Mr. A.R. Saifullah, General Secretary, All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation. It is heartening to inform you that the meetings turned out to be huge success with wholehearted participation of Officers despite short notice. We are very glad to inform you that Chief Managers have also attended our meetings and listened to our beloved General Secretary.

Around 100 Officers attended the meetings at Hyderabad and Vijayawada with lot of enthusiasm and interest. This shows their commitment towards the Association and their dedication for the cause of Officers.

No words are enough to describe the dedication of Mr. A.R. Saifullah to the cause of Officer’s Movement and his commitment to our Unit. Reflecting true leadership qualities, Mr. Saifullah has undertaken tedious journey from Chennai to Hyderabad and Hyderabad to Vijayawada at a stretch. In fact, without taking even a single minute rest, Mr. Saifullah travelled by Road to Vijayawada immediately after the meeting at Hyderabad.  Not only that, the most powerful leader of Officers’ movement in our Bank, greeted each and every officer present in the meetings by going to their seats and handing over flower bouquets. With his down to earth approach, what we can say except that – HATS OFF TO OUR LEADER.

The Hyderabad meeting commenced at 3.00 p.m. at our Association Office on 10th March. Mr. James Xavier, Chairman and Coordinator for State AIBOC, presided over the meeting. The Vijayawada meeting commenced at 11.00 a.m. at Conference Hall, Regional Office, Vijayawada on 11th March. Mr. D.V. Krishna Rao, Senior Vice-President presided over the meeting. At both the places, Mr. Saifullah was honored with garlands and bouquets by enthusiastic participants.

While talking about the developments during the period from the last meeting, the undersigned has narrated as to how the other unions, with the tacit support of the management, have been trying to destabilize our Association. He quoted several instances where our members have been lured with favorable postings to shift their loyalties, with the active involvement of management in trade union affairs. He conveyed his sincere appreciation to the members for continuing their belief in the Association despite the adversities and keeping the flag high during the turbulent times.

He has also expressed serious concern about the trade union activities carried out by some of the Management Personnel at Regional Level with ulterior motives. They have not only forgotten their roles and responsibilities as Regional Heads, but also stepped into the shoes of Trade Unions. He has assured that Association has taken note of their activities and would initiate necessary measures to protect the interests of the membership and their trade union rights.

While commencing his address, Mr. A.R. Saifullah, our beloved General Secretary, explained in detail about the alarming situation prevailing in the Bank and requested all the members to put extra efforts to ensure that bank achieves its goals during the current year. He has also emphasized on the urgent need for recovery of NPAs which has affected our Bank’s image considerably.

He deliberated at length about the discussions of our Federation had with Central Office Management in the recent past on various issues. He informed that the Management had invited only our Federation to have discussions on important issues concerning the Officers. He had also informed that the Federation has taken up with Central Office the highhandedness of some of the Regional Managers and informed the officers that right steps would be initiated at an appropriate time to curb their highhandedness and their partisan activities. He requested the members not to fall prey with the rumors spread by the rival Unions, which had no locus stand on the Policy Matters.

He informed the gathering that only the Federation, as the recognized Majority Organization for Officers, could settle the Policy Issues. He assured that the Federation would relentlessly fight for securing more benefits and facilities to the Officers of the Bank. He congratulated the members for attending the meeting in such a large number despite the short notice.

Later in the interactive session, the participants raised queries on several issues, which were promptly and patiently clarified by Mr. Saifullah to the satisfaction of one and all.

Friends, the meetings both at Hyderabad and Vijayawada turned out to be memorable events though they were conducted with a short notice. The enthusiasm and zeal shown by the rank and file indicates their sheer dedication for the cause of Officers’ Movement and their unstinted affiliation to our Association. This only establishes the fact that A.I.C.B.O.F. is the only Organisation in the Bank, which wages relentless fights against the management for the benefit of Officers working in the Bank.

Yours sincerely,
Sd/-
(C.A. MALLIKARJUNA RAO)
GENERAL SECRETARY
