AIBOC - JHARKHAND STATE COUNCIL MEETING
AIBOC Jharkhand State Council meeting was held at Social Development Centre Conference Hall at Ranchi on 22.01.2012. The Hall was well decorated inspiring the members. More than three hundred members attended the open session of the Conference.
The meeting was presided over by Com. Kalyan Chatterjee, President AIBOC, Jharkhand Unit. Com. P .K. Sarkar President of the national body AIBOC was the Chief Guest and Shri. D. Chakraborty, General Manager, Allahabad Bank and in -charge of SLBC Jharkhand was the Guest of Honour. Along with them were zonal/Circle Managers of Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Union Bank with representatives from AlBEA, BEFI on the dais.
Welcome song presented by the Womens' Wing of the State Unit set the tone of the meeting.
Com. Pashupati Prasad of Canara Bank Officers' Association and the Chairman of the Reception Committee, extended the formal welcome to the, leaders and guest.
Com. P.K. Sarkar the President of the national body and the Chief Guest and Shri. D. Chakraborty G. M. Allahabad Bank and the Guest of Honour and other dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the conference, amidst thunderous applause I by lightening the traditional lamp.
Com. P .K. Sarkar in his inaugural address dealt in detail the challenges being confronted by the organisation and pending issues such as compassionate appointment, five days a week, regulated working hours, implementation of Khandelwal Committee recommendations ete., He has also said that the AIBOC Central Committee has decided to go for one day token strike in March 2012, I pressing for a solution for all outstanding demands.
Shri. D. Chakraborty G.M, Allahabad Bank and the Guest of Honour extended his good wishes for the success of State Council Meeting. He dealt in detail the functioning of different banks in Jharkhand and expected the banks to take care of the plight of the poverty stricken masses of the state. He touched upon various areas like opening of the branches as part of financial inclusion etc.
Shri. K.K. Tiwari, Dy. G. M. Union Bank of India, Shri. U.S. Trivedi DGM, Allahabad Bank, Shri. N N Khanna, Dy. G.M Canara Bank, Shri. AS Atri, AGM, Bank of India conveyed their good wishes for the success of the conference. They said that they are all the beneficiaries of the association.
Com. Nayeem, representing AlBEA conveyed his greetings for the success of the conference. He called up on the house to ensure unity and strength to UFBU to resolve those issues to the satisfaction of all. Com. M.L. Singh representative of BEFI also conveyed his greetings.
Com. D. Sengupta the outgoing Secretary, who is retiring on superannuation was given a warm send off.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Com. N.K. Shahi, of Bank of India Officers' Association.
Com. Kalyan Chatterjee, President of the State Unit chaired the Business, Session and welcomed the members.
Com. D. Senguptha, Secretary placed his report before the house and was got approved unanimously.
Com. AJ, Prabal, Vice President, proposed the following resolutions which I were passed unanimously.
1. 5 days week in banking industry
2. Regulated working hours
3. Compassionate appointment
4. Corruption in public life
During the Business Session of following office bearers were elected unanimously along with others committee members.
President- Com. Kalyan Chatterjee – SBI
Secretary -Com. S.K. Pathak –Union Bank
Treasurer- Com. J. Kertetta –Union Bank
Meeting was concluded after deliberations with vote of thanks and National Anthem.
