“BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MEETING
The business development meeting convened by our Management to discuss Business development matters was held at our Central Office on 23rd February 2012. Sri Vijai Misra, GM(HR) welcomed the members. Sri P V Raveendran, GM (Accounts/GAD), Sri. G B Songaonkar, GM(P&D) and Sri. Vijai Misra, GM(HR) presented the financial results for Q3 as well as HR initiatives.
Our Chairman and Managing Director, Sri. M V Tanksale made a passionate appeal for attaining all targets prescribed for the year 2011-12. He has also appealed to the representatives of the Federation and Unions to take message down the line and ensure the all round progress of the Bank by their committed efforts and involvement. Our CMD made the following observations on our business growth/attainment of budget for 2011-12.
Ø Branches should go for higher growth of low cost deposits.
Ø More concentration should be on Priority Sector/ Agricultural advances.
Ø Retail lending should be improved.
Ø Slippages should be contained.
Ø Regular contact with customers and better customer service.
Sri. Rajiv Dubey, our Executive Director pointed out that our business growth should be steady and in tune with the Banking industry. He also appealed to the representatives of Federation and Unions in enlisting the involvement and commitment of every officer and staff members by making recoveries in NPA accounts and compliance of KYC norms.
Sri A R Saifullah, responding the views of the TOP Management thanked the CMD and ED for their gesture in inviting the representatives of the Trade Unions for the meeting and also assured them of positive and involved approach of our Federation as has been done over the last 47 years in the overall growth and development of the Bank. The suggestions made by our Federation to the administration are as under:
Ø Targets may be given to the branches based on their inherent potential for growth in the respective segments instead of prescribing targets on all fronts like Deposits, all type of Advances, etc.
Ø Hardware provided in the year 2006-2007 are to be replaced including PB printers.
Ø CCPC in all regional headquarters is to be established with sufficient manpower.
Ø Special counter for senior citizens is to be provided in big centres.
Ø To boost up Agri advances more number of AFOs are to be recruited and to be provided to the cluster of branches.
Ø Services of retired officers may be engaged as recovery agents.
Ø Separate market team is to be formed in all metro centres for cross selling the products.
Ø Cost of idle cash is to be reduced by sending team from the Currency chest to the local branches to collect excess cash.
Ø Lok Adalat may be organized in all districts.
Ø Frequent review meeting of Branch Managers should be avoided.
Ø Enormous pressures are being given to the Branch Managers for the crisis management, leaving no time to them for business development. Branch Managers should be allowed to concentrate on business development.
Ø More than 1200 branches are functioning without 2nd Officer. Adequate Officers should be provided to all such branches.
Ø Leave applications of Branch Managers are being denied.
Ø During review meeting some of our Branch Managers are being humiliated and harassed.
Ø Zonal setup should not be dismantled which is an additional layer of control or monitoring.
Ø All Zones and Regions may convene Business development meetings.
Our Federation has always put forth its views before every successive management on how to make the bank stronger and healthier. We are confident that all the suggestions made by us will be dealt with in the positive manner by our Management.
In the meanwhile, we appeal to all our members to give their best for our beloved institution and ensure its unhindered progress in the days to come in spite of the challenges ahead of us.”
LONG LIVE CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
