“FORMATION OF CENTRAL BANK RETIRED OFFICERS’ ORGANISATION
Formation of Retired Officers’ Organization has been given prime importance by All India Bank Officers’ Confederation. Along with Wage Revision Settlement, the employees and officers were also given another option of pension in April 2010. A number of officers have opted for pension in terms of the settlement arrived at by the organizations with the IBA.
With these developments, there is a huge number of officers who are now pension optees. Hence our Confederation has felt a need for forming a strong Retired Officers’ Organization in all banks. Earlier also an attempt had been made by the Confederation to from exclusive Retired Officers’ Organization, but the response from the retired officers then was not much encouraging. Now the necessity for taking up the problems and grievances of retired officers with the appropriate authorities has been seriously felt and hence formation of a retired officers organization.
In our earlier circular, we had informed you about the intention of our Federation to form Retired Bank Officers’ Federation in the bank as per the direction of AIBOC. Accordingly our Federation has advised all the units to take initiative and establish the Retired Officers’ Association. We are happy to inform you that the Associations of Retired Officers have already been established in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Mumbai, Delhi, Patna, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Guwahati, Muzzafarpur, Pune, Kerala etc.
We had also informed you that our Federation is also in the process of forming a Federation of Retired Officers’ Associations to discuss and deliberate upon the problems of retired officers and take up with the appropriate authorities.
