AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 25 DATED 23.02.2012

AIBOC issued its circular No. 25 dated 23.02.2012 on fraternal support to the General Strike Call of Central Trade Unions. We are placing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.25                                                          Date:  23.02.2012

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

FRATERNAL SUPPORT TO THE GENERAL STRIKE CALL OF CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS

The Central Trade Unions have given a call for a day’s strike on 28th February, 2012 against price rise, disinvestment of Public Sector Equity, Contract Employment, Outsourcing, Demanding Rs.10,000/- minimum wages, Job Security, compulsory registration of unions within 45 days, enforcement of labour laws etc.

The Executive Committee of AIBOC at its 66th meeting held on 17th & 18th January, 2012 at Kolkata, after due deliberations, has decided to extend fraternal support to the Strike. It was decided to communicate to the IBA/Govt., our displeasure in not resolving pending issues with them and to demand discussion on Khandelwal Committee recommendations. The committee has also decided to observe a day’s protest strike during the 3rd or 4th week of March, 2012 if the issues remain unresolved. The leadership will decide the date of the strike.

As we are not joining the general strike on 28th February, 2012. We have decided to extend fraternal support to the striking comrades. Our members may join lunch time demonstrations and rallies, if any, organised by the Central Trade Unions on the day of the strike.

With revolutionary greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
