TO ALL AFFILIATES /MEMBERS:

 

“UNIVERSAL ACADEMY OF LEADERSHIP & LEARNING”

Our affiliate, All India Union Bank Officers’ Federation has formed a ‘Trust’ under the name and style “Universal Academy of Leadership and Learning” (UALL) to take care of the activities relating to leadership development and mobilisation, sharing of  knowledge on contemporary issues pertaining to Trade Union Movement and other welfare activities, for the benefit of Officers’ fraternity. The trust will impart knowledge; provide leadership training and handling disciplinary matters to the members of AIBOC. They have taken a building on lease basis for 25 years for housing the Trust Office, Library with Photo gallery and other facilities.

The inaugural ceremony of the ‘UALL’ was held on 19th January, 2012 at the Trust building in Kolkata. Shri.M.V.Nair, CMD of Union Bank of India inaugurated the Trust by cutting the ribbon & lighting the lamp. He showered praise on the AIUBOF for the constructive role played by them and complimented them for launching the trust “UALL” for the welfare of the officers. He also shared the progress made by the Bank with the active support of the Federation. He declared that, Bank will extend financial assistance to the Trust to establish a library.

Com.G.D.Nadaf, General Secretary, AIBOC/AISBOF was the Chief Guest. In his address, he complimented the AIUBOF for establishing ‘UALL’ to take care of training of the Officers in Leadership Development and as Defence Representatives. While NATURE, a wing of AISBOF, is rendering yeomen service in the area for the last 20 years, it is not possible to impart knowledge to 2.5 lac officers under the banner of AIBOC, by the NATURE alone. He assured that required assistance will be provided to the ‘UALL’ by the ‘NATURE’. The occasion was also utilised to bring before the CMD of UBI, the residual issues of 9th bipartite pending with IBA, to be resolved before commencement of the negotiation on 10th bipartite.

Com.S.R.Sen Gupta, former President/General Secretary of AIBOC was Guest of Honour. In his felicitation speech, he complimented AIUBOF for the initiative to collect photographs & records pertaining to officers’ movement in the Banking Industry.

Com.V.B.Naik, former President/General Secretary of AIUBOF expressed his happiness on the formation of the Trust and advised them to collect & present the materials on officers’ movement.

Com.P.K.Sarkar, General Secretary of AIUBOF in his welcome address briefed on the activities to be taken up by the Trust and plans to procure their own building & infrastructure in the days to come.

Com.Debashish Ghosh, President of AIUBOF extended vote of thanks. It was one of the historic moments for AIUBOF. The Confederation is proud of its affiliate’s efforts in establishing the ‘Trust’ and complimented the leadership of AIUBOF for the achievement.

We wish the Trust all success in its endeavours and hope that the academy will emerge as a Centre of Academic Excellence in the area of studies on Labour Movement, Education and Training.
