AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 93 DATED 29TH DECEMBER 2009

AIBOC issued its circular No. 93 on number of representatives of unions in negotiations. We reproduce the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.93            29TH December, 2009
TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:
NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES OF UNIONS IN NEGOTIATIONS
We have addressed a letter to the Chairman, IBA stressing the need for allowing four representatives from our Confederation in all the Bipartite Negotiation forums.  The letter is self explicit and annexed to this circular.
2.          Further developments in this regard will be informed to you.
With warm greetings,

(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY

No.1452/256/09                      29.12.09
To,
The Chairman,
The Indian Banks’ Association,
Stadium House, Block II & III,
Vir Nariman Road, Church Gate,
Mumbai – 400 020.

Dear Sir,

NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES OF UNIONS IN NEGOTIATIONS

We would like to bring to your kind notice the fact that during the talks on wage revision held between IBA, Officers’ and workmen unions, the pattern earlier followed in the matter of number of Union Representatives was 4 from majority Officers’ Association and employee’s Union and 2 from other minority unions. Accordingly, 4 representatives from the majority workmen organisations participated along with 2 from each of the minority unions.  This pattern was followed from a long time and sudden discontinuation of the pattern has created avoidable misunderstandings among the representatives of minority workers’ unions such as BEFI, INBEF, NOBOW and also among the Officers’ Organisations.

2.       We have now reached the stage, of separate talks between IBA and Officers’ Associations for deciding on the distribution of load and other components of the pay scales and other related matters.  As the whole exercise is of a complex nature, we are of the firm opinion that the earlier pattern of representation should be restored.
3.       We therefore, feel that the number of representatives from our Confederation in all the bipartite negotiation forums in the days to come should be minimum 4(four).
4.       We request you to consider the above suggestion positively at the earliest.
Thanking you,
                                                              Yours faithfully,
                                                              Sd/-
                                                              (G.D. NADAF)
