To,
Sri. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee
Hon’ble Finance Minister,
Government of India,
South Block,
Parliament House,
New Delhi.
Dear Sir,
PRE-BUDGET CONSULTATIONS - MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES OF CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS
We have gone through the news paper reports that you intend to hold a meeting of the Trade Union leaders of Central Trade Unions, as part of the pre-budget consultation with a cross section of people representing various interests. Such consultations have helped the Finance Ministry to know and understand the response of the people to the economic developments that are taking place within the country and the remedial measures or suggestions to be offered by the above groups, to achieve a balanced and inclusive growth.
2. We wish to bring to your kind notice the fact that ours is an Apex organisation of Officers’ Trade Unions in the Banking Industry having membership of more than 2.5 lac officers, spread across the length and breadth of the country covering the entire Banking Industry, including the old generation Private Sector Banks. In this background, we have a strong feeling that the pre-budget consultation process should involve us also. Therefore we request you to afford us an opportunity to participate in the proposed Meeting of Representatives of Central Trade Unions and present our views on various issues involving the Banking matters as well as the issues pertaining to the officers’ community in the Banking Industry. It needs no emphasis that the officers in the Banking Industry have played a very important role in the Economic Development of the country especially in the area of lending to priority sectors including Agriculture, Small Scale Industry, Small Business enterprises etc.
3. We once again request you to extend your invitation to us to participate in the proposed meeting of Representatives of Central Trade Unions.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Sd/-
