S.B.I. plans to acquire around 6 lakh Point of Sale (PoS) terminals in the next five years and is looking for a partner for its foray into PoS terminal business. The bank has shortlisted 3-4 global players for the joint venture and will be taking decision shortly.
At present, ICICI, Axix and HDFC have a larger share of PoS terminals as compared to the Public Sector Banks.
