CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA SANCTIONS EDUCATION LOAN IN A DAY TO SHRI APURVA MISHRA: FIRST INDIAN AT NOBEL PRIZE CEREMONY IN STOCKHOLM FOR SIYSS AWARD

Central Bank of India is currently aggressively canvassing education loan proposals with a view to assist to all deserving students for pursuing higher education. The bank is considering all education loan proposals within a time-bound manner to ensure ‘no deserving student should fail to avail higher education due to lack of funds.’ Recently, Janpath Branch of the Bank in Bhubaneswar, sanctioned a education loan in a day for Rs.7.60 lacs to Sri Apurva Mishra, a young achiever for pursuing a course in B. Sc. (Technology & E-Commerce) at London, U.K.

A student of Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, Apurva shot into fame in 2006 by developing the ‘Glabenator’ a communication device for disabled person. He developed it to help his grandfather, a paralytic patient, for day-to-day communication like food, clothing, toilet and entertainment. A disabled person can scroll for different options available on the screen of the ‘Glabenator’ by raising his eyebrows and select whatever he wants by contracting his eyebrows. The machine then announces the choice in a human voice.

The device has been patented by IUA and is being used by paralytic patients across the world.

Apurva Mishra, the young achiever, is currently engaged in putting his invention for other social usages.

Shri Apurva received four prestigious awards namely,
1)    Indian National Technology Award, 2006 for the best technological invention for the physically challenged.
2)    ISEF Grand Award – Indianapolis 2006
3)    CSIR Invention Award 2004
4)    Infosys Young Achievers Award 2007.

Mr. Apurva Mishra scaled further heights by attending the highly coveted noble festivities besides receiving the diploma from the noble foundation and Swedish Federation of young scientists. This is the first time India has been represented since the inception of SIYSS (Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar) by Noble Prize Committee in 1976 and Apurva is the first and only Indian SIYSS awardee at the nobel prize ceremony.
Recently he attended a six-week long residency innovative camp organised in Berlin, where 30 people below 30 years of age and from 30 different disciplines and background worked on innovative ideas or projects. Apurva was the youngest participant in the camp. The projects were presented to 300 corporate heads.
