AIBOC issued its circular No. 94 on restoration of the age of superannuation to 60 in Dhanalaxmi Bank. We are reproducing the same here.
CIRCULAR NO:94 DATE: 29.12.09
TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:
RESTORATION OF THE AGE OF SUPERANNUATION TO 60
VICTORY FOR THE SUSTAINED CAMPAIGN OF DHANALAXMI BANK OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION
We may recall here the arbitrary and unilateral decision of the Management of Dhanalaxmi Bank to curtail the age of superannuation of officers in the Bank from 60 to 58, in the year 2004. This had provoked the Officers of the Bank who were compelled to go on indefinite strike on two occasions. Dhanalaxmi Bank Officers’ Organisation persisted with its campaign for restoration of the age of superannuation to 60 as prevailing in the Banking Industry, and was vilified, by the powers that be, for launching an agitation demanding parity in service conditions.
2. The protracted struggle has yielded the desired results recently and the Management has restored the age of superannuation of 60. Our kudos to the valiant members of Dhanalaxmi Bank Officers’ Organisation for clinching this benefit, sad though, many of the performing Officers had to bear the brunt of the unjust act of the Management.
3. The members of our affiliate have proved that a concerted and planned struggle, through the collective strength of officers, will bring the desired results.
4. We heartily congratulate our affiliate Dhanalaxmi Bank Officers’ Organisation for this historic achievement and compliment our comrades for standing steadfastly with the organisation in its crusade for achieving a just cause.
With warm greetings,
