CIRCULAR NO.17 26.02.2010
TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:
ORGANISATIONAL ACTIVITIES
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBERATIONS
The Confederation has been encouraging our Women’s Wing both at the National level as well as the States to take up several activities under its guidance which are beneficial to the Trade Union movement as well as the Women Officers working in the banking industry. The State Units of the Confederation were directed to set up Women’s Wing in their respective states and bring the lady officers into the trade union activities and also considering the increasing number of women officers, it is needless to add that they should participate in all the trade union activities of the affiliates as well as the Confederation.
It is in this background, it has been decided to hold the International Women’s Day in a befitting manner by our National Women’s Wing. We have been receiving reports from the leaders of the various State Women’s Wing as well as the National Women’s Wing that despite the repeated requests by the Confederation, the activities of the Women’s wing is not all that encouraging and at many centers these activities are almost nil. The Executive Committee of the Confederation which met at Panjim:Goa on 17th February, 2010 had an occasion to review the activities of the Women’s Wing as reported by the representatives of the Women’s Wing. It was noticed that the affiliates need to take more active interest in helping their members to take active part in the women’s wing activities.
In order to give further fillip it was decided that the International Women’s Day which is round the corner should be utilized for the purpose of conducting various activities under the auspicious of the Women’s Wing in different parts of the country. Hence, it is incumbent on the part of all our State Units to extend all support and co-operation in motivating the lady officers of different affiliates to come forward and take up the activities in right spirit so that the Women’s Wing gets further consolidated under the banner of the Confederation.
All our affiliates/State Units are therefore requested to initiative necessary steps to extend all co-operation and guidance to the Women’s Wing to conduct special meetings/Seminars/activities through out the country in connection with the International Women’s Day and also provide necessary motivation to our lady officers to focus their attention to the various activities that are beneficial to the society at large through our Women’s Wing all over the country.
With greetings,
