Centre 1, 6th Floor, Cuffe Parade,
MUMBAI – 400 005.

Dear Sir,

IR PROBLEMS IN FEDERAL BANK LTD.,  - PROTEST STRIKE BY AIBOC KERALA STATE UNIT

Due to unjustified dismissal of Sri.V.K.Prasad, officer by the Management of the Federal Bank Ltd., members of our affiliate in Federal Bank observed a day’s spot strike on 26.04.2011.  Despite the intervention of the General Secretary of the AIBOC and the president of the AIBOC State Unit of Kerala, the Management has not reviewed their decision in the matter.

It may be noted that, Shri.Prasad is the President of Federal Bank Officers Association and the Secretary of AIBOC, Kerala State Unit.  The disproportionate penalty for alleged procedural irregularity committed by him, while working as Branch Manager, has sent a wrong signal to our workforce that, Management has resorted to victimize the official for his trade union activities, through penal provisions.

The Federal Bank Officers Association, left with no alternative, has decided to proceed with the agitation programme, including twso days strike on 19th & 20th May, 2011, three days strike on 6th, 7th & 8th June, 2011 and longer period of strike from the date to be decided later.
Our State Unit at Kerala has also decided to participate in the proposed strike on 20th May 2011, in support of the demand of the Federal Bank Officers Association, to reinstate Shri.Prasad and to review the penalty. Therefore, all our members working in the State of Kerala will observe a day’s protest strike on 20th May 2011, which please take notice of.

With warm greetings,
Sd/-
