AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 37 DATED 13.04.2011

AIBOC issued its circular No. 37 dated 13.04.2011 on mobilization of retiree officers in the banking industry. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.37                           DATE: 13.04.2011

TO ALL AFFILIATES /MEMBERS:

MOBILIZATION OF RETIREE OFFICERS IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY - AIBOC TO SET UP A SEPARATE WING - SUB-COMMITTEE FORMED

The General Council, which met at Bhubaneshwar from 29th to 31st January, 2011 had an occasion to deliberate on the success of the Confederation in ensuring settlement of the 2nd Option on Pension and all other related issues during the last settlement. The 2nd Option has enabled a large number of retirees to enroll as members of the Pension Scheme to avail the Pension Benefits for which they were waiting since long. The Council had also considered the issue of mobilization of the Retiree Officers under the banner of AIBOC in the Banking Industry in order to consolidate their movement and ensure greater relief to them in course of time. There are a number of Retirees’/Pensioners’ Associations all over the country, not been able to resolve grievances during the last several years. These Associations are not recognized by the IBA/Govt. Hence, the Confederation should take up the task of organising the pensioners under its banner. A separate provision was also made in the by-laws to ensure that the movement gets a structured and protected growth in future. The by-laws provide for the establishment of the Retirees and recognizes it as one of the important wings of the Confederation. The Council also adopted a resolution to this effect.

The Executive Committee of the Confederation, which met at Lucknow on 6th April 2011, had an occasion to deliberate on the issue in detail. The members of the Committee suggested that immediate steps should be taken to organize the Wing of the Pensioners under the banner of the Confederation to give effect to the provisions of the by-laws adopted along with the resolution to this effect in the 9th Triennial General Council. The Confederation also should strive to bring all the Pensioners’/Retirees’ organisations under one broad platform, in order to ensure that, the structured relationship is established with IBA and the Government to take up their grievances. The multiplicity of the organizations with no proper direction are only a hindrance for the resolution of long pending issues of the Pensioners in the Banking Industry. Accordingly, a Sub-Committee under the Convenorship of Com.K.D.Kheda, Advisor, AIBOC was formed for the purpose.

The composition of the Sub-Committee is as follows:
Sarvashri:
1)         K.D.Kheda                    -           Convenor
2)         P.V.Mathew      -           Member
3)         K.Ananda Kumar -         Member
4)         G.C.Mishra        -           Member
5)         P.V.Sivasankar -           Member
            Pillai

It was also decided to invite the erstwhile senior leaders of the Confederation to participate in the deliberations to offer their views in the matter.  The Special Invitees are:-

Sarvashri.
S.R.Sengupta    -Former G.S, AIBOC
Shantha raju      -Former G.S, AIBOC
K.V.Acharya      -Former G.S, IOBOA
T.R.Bhat           -Former G.S, CBOO

The Sub-Committee will meet shortly and consider all the issues concerning the foundation of the All India Retired Bank Officers’ Confederation and to come out with its report at an early date.

Comrades, this is yet another bold decision of the Confederation to bring the entire Retiree officers under the broad platform of the organization to ensure that they are able to resolve all their long pending grievances.

All our affiliates/members are requested to await further developments in this regard.

With warm greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
