AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 47 DATED 04.05.2011

AIBOC issued its circular No. 47 dated 04.05.2011 on deferment of proposed strike and agitation in Federal Bank. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.47                                            DATE: 04.05.2011

TO ALL AFFILIATES /MEMBERS:

PROPOSED STRIKE AND AGITATION IN FEDERAL BANK DEFERRED

Please refer to our Circular No. 46 dated 3rd May, 2011.

Com.G.D.Nadaf, General Secretary, AIBOC along with Com.P.V.Mathew, General Secretary of Federal Bank Officers’ Association, continued the dialogue on 03.05.2011 with the Managing Director and CEO of Federal Bank, on reinstatement of Com. V.K.Prasad, who has been dismissed by the Bank on 23.04.2011, for alleged irregularities in sanctioning of housing loans, etc.  The Executive Director, Chief General Manager and Deputy General Manager (HR) of the Bank participated in the meeting.

Our just demand was to reinstate Com.Prasad and review the penalty imposed by the Disciplinary Authority. In the afternoon of 3rd May 2011, Com.Prasad had presented the facts before the Managing Director.

After prolonged discussions up to late night, the Managing Director of the Bank requested us for some more time to look into the issue and complete the required formalities. The available Office Bearers of the Federal Bank Officers’ Association considered this proposal favourably. Accordingly, the undersigned communicated to the Managing Director that, in order to restore congenial atmosphere in the Bank, the proposed two days strike slated on 5th & 6th May, 2011 by members of Federal Bank Officers’ Association and one day protest strike by the Kerala State Unit of AIBOC on 6th May 2011, will be deferred up to 12th May, 2011. It was also decided to defer all agitational programmes until 12th May, 2011. The Managing Director was requested to complete the required formalities as early as possible and take a positive decision in the matter. He was happy, as the congenial atmosphere is restored in the Bank, and assured to complete formalities at the earliest.

Comrades, we expect that, a positive development may take place in the matter, and the contentious issue will be resolved amicably before the deadline fixed by both the parties. This was possible, only because of the pressure, created by the members of the FBOA, supported by our affiliates and the State Units, on the Management of the Federal Bank.

We compliment our members for the solid support extended to the militant comrades of Federal Bank Officers’ Association.

We shall keep you informed of the developments.

With warm greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
