CIRCULAR NO.42 DATE: 28.04.2011
TO ALL AFFILIATES /MEMBERS:
MASSIVE DEMONSTRATIONS AT BANGALORE AGAINST DHANALAKSHMI BANK MANAGEMENT’S ATROCITIES
The AIBOC State Unit of Karnataka, under the leadership of Com.B.S.Ravindra, the State Secretary, had organised a massive demonstration against the Dhanalakshmi Bank Management for their highhanded approach against the Dhanlakshmi Bank officers. The demonstration was held at the ‘Freedom Park ’, Bangalore . Comrades from all over Bangalore City had assembled in large numbers at 4:00 p.m sharp on 27.04.2011; to support the just cause and to demonstrate solidarity with the fighting comrades of Dhanalakshmi Bank Officers’ Organisation. Com.G.D.Nadaf, General Secretary of AIBOC, Com.P.V.Mohanan, General Secretary of DBOO, Com.Vijaya, President of DBOO, Com.B.S.Ravindra, State Secretary of AIBOC, Karnataka State and leaders from all the State Units of affiliates of AIBOC participated. The Meeting commenced with militant slogans.
Com.B.S.Ravindra, welcomed the comrades who had assembled in large numbers and pledged total, unconditional support of the Karnataka State Unit of AIBOC to the DBOO comrades.
“Let me bow my head in reverence to all comrades from Karnataka, and I convey my revolutionary greetings to you, all on behalf of the fighting soldiers of DBOO” began Com.Mohanan. “We are a small unit, but a staunch member of AIBOC since 25 years,” he said. He then went on to explain how Mr.Amitabh Chaturvedi the Managing Director of the Bank is systematically trying to demolish the officers’ movement in Dhanalaxmi Bank. “After destroying the Unions in Bank of Madura, enabling its take over by ICICI and later luring the officers with monetary benefits and systematically demolishing the trade union movement there, Mr.Amitabh Chaturvedi has now come with a mission to destroy the DBOO as well and thereby hand over the Bank on a platter to the Corporates who are lurking in the corner to take over and swallow such small Private Sector Banks. Recruiting employees and officers on a CTC basis, preventing them from becoming members of DBOO, minimizing the strength of DBOO, resorting to erratic transfers and high handedness, victimising uncompromising officers are his methods, he said. The height of arrogance of Managing Director, was demonstrated in the challenge, he threw at the AIBOC. His adamant arrogance of challenging officers to ‘go on agitation, let’s see”, attitude was the final nail of irritation. “We are on warpath. We need your total support. This is for the survival of not the DBOO, but the trade union movement in Banks itself”, he said and concluded.
Later, Com.Vijaya the President of DBOO highlighted the atrocities committed by the Management on the poor and sincere officers, added further that all such attempts would be resisted tooth and nail.
Later, Com.G.D.Nadaf, congratulated Com.B.S.Ravindra and members for the massive demonstrations and pledged total support to the militant comrades of DBOO. He said that the entire Bank Officers’ movement will go all out to support the just and noble cause of DBOO who are our affiliate since inception. He congratulated Com.Mohanan and Com.Vijaya and their members for resisting all the ill-conceived attempts to break the DBOO and sell the Bank to Private Corporates. The DBOO is small in size but, the Pandavas were also numbering only five. They fought the sinister Kauravas who were hundred. “Therefore you are not a small organisation; you have the support of 2.5 lakh officers of all Banks. Now, your cause is our cause. Your issue is our issue, a national issue and will go all out to nip in the bud such attempts to destroy the movement,” he declared amidst thunderous applause. Throwing back a challenge against the Management of DBOO, he said, that a person who has joined the Bank just one and half years ago, calls officers who have put in 30 years of service; ‘as outsiders’ – what sarcasm! Further, he calls the AIBOC, though established in the year 1985 having the officers of the entire Banking Industry as its members, duly recognized by the Government, IBA and Public - as financial sector trade union as an outsider, and challenging its legitimate move in defending an affiliate, calling it interference, is certainly height of ignorance or arrogance! God only has to save such high-headed egoistic ostriches. It is therefore, even more necessary to take this fight to its logical end, and ensure that he is a big “Zero” and not a “Hero”, he said amidst laughter and applause.
Later, he gave a detailed account of the attempts of the Federal Bank Management to demolish the movement there, by dismissing the President of FBOA on flimsy grounds. He highlighted the agitational programme in Kerala and said that, the Managements have chosen a wrong place, a wrong Bank and a wrong time to commence its ill-conceived war.
He concluded with an appeal to the membership to remain United and thwart such attempts, which are likely to grow like parthenium.
Comrades, we have to remain vigilant and defeat the sinister designs, which are backed by the Multinationals sand selfish Corporates who always try to fish in troubled water. The entire event received extensive coverage in electronic and print media.
MARCH ON COMRADES, MARCH ON………………………
With greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
