CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA CELEBRATED 129TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF BANK’S FOUNDER SIR SORABJI POCHKHANAWALA

Central Bank of India celebrated 129th Birth Anniversary of Bank’s Founder Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala at S.P.B.T. College Auditorium, Mumbai with its valuable customers. A Variety entertainment programme “Monsoon Dhamaka”, directed by Dr. Cyrus Dastoor was arranged on the occasion. Though the birth anniversary of Bank’s founder falls on 9th August 2010, for the convenient of the customers the celebration was held on Saturday, 7th August 2010.

Shri S. Sridhar, Chairman & Managing Director of Central Bank of India spoke briefly about the contribution made by Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala for the banking development in India.

Shri S. Sridhar, CMD spoke about the values inculcated by Sir Pochkhanawala and said that Pochkhanawala had the urge to establish a Swadeshi Bank and it is more creditable that he stabilized the bank and see it prosper. He was real professional of his time. He further said “December 2010-2011 is a Centenary Year for our Bank and we are committed to fulfill the dreams of Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala with the help of customers. He thanked all the customers for their unstinted support to the Bank.
