The final interviews to find a successor to incumbent State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman, Mr O.P. Bhatt, were held.
Mr Bhatt, who was named Chairman of SBI in 2006, is due to retire in March 2011. As many as four deputy managing directors of SBI had appeared for the interview before a panel , it is learnt.
The names doing the rounds are Mr Hemant Contractor, who was recently appointed as SBI's Chief Financial Officer; Mr Diwakar Gupta, Deputy MD (rural and national banking); Mr Prateep Chaudhuri, Deputy MD (international business) and Mr K. Krishnakumar, Deputy MD (information technology).
