AIBOC issued its circular No. 157 dated 8th December 2010 on the 18th Delegate Session of the Federation of the Bank of India Officers’ Associations held at Chandigarh on 27th, 28th and 29th November, 2010. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

18TH DELEGATE SESSION OF THE FEDERATION OF THE BANK OF INDIA OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATIONS HELD AT CHANDIGARH ON 27TH, 28TH AND 29TH NOVEMBER, 2010

The 18th Delegate Session of Federation of Bank of India Officers’ Assns. was conducted at Chandigarh, the “CITY BEAUTIFUL” on 27th to 29th November, 2010 at the famous Tagore Hall, at Sector 18, Chandigarh, after a colourful procession, for the INAUGURAL SESSION.


The inaugural session on 27.11.2010 was presided over by Com. A.K. Motayed, President of the Federation. Dr. Upinderjit Kaur, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Planning, Programme implementation, Vigilance & Justice, govt of Punjab,  was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Com. G.D.Nadaf-General Secreary of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, Shri. N. Seshadri-Executive Director of our Bank, Shri. R.C.Khurana-General Manager, National Banking Group (North) and Sh. R.K.Goel, General Manager (H.R.), Com. V. Eswaran former President, AIBOC  and General Secretary FBOA and Com. P.S. Patki-leading lights of yesteryears were other Dignitaries who adored the dais along with other office bearers of our Federation. Com. H.S. Mangat, President of host unit and Com. Ashok Sharma in his dual Capacity of Vice President of the Federation and General Secretary of the host unit were also on the dais.

The Session commenced with the traditional Ganesh Vandana, prayer song dance by Miss Shesha Malik, followed by soul rendering Shabad-Eko Naam Dhiyae Man Mere from Holy Guru Granth Sahib.

Com. Harvinder Singh, in his inimitable style gave the welcome address and traced the history of their Federation and its relentless pursuit over the last 40 years to protect the self respect and dignity of the officers’ fraternity.

Shri R.C. Khurana, General Manager, NBG (North), Shri. R.K. Goel, General Manager (H.R.), extended their warm greetings.

Com. V. Eswaran, the veteran and evergreen leader of our Federation recalled the grand strides made by the Federation and its illustrious leaders from the inception and wished the organization to grow from strength to strength in the coming days.

The Chief Guest Dr. Upinderjit Kaur, in her address complimented the Bank and its Officers for their keenly and whole hearted support extended to all the Government schemes. She expressed satisfaction that Bank of India is having more than 55% of its Advances to Priority Sector in the State of Punjab. She appealed that the CD ratio should be greatly enhanced in the land locked, Agriculture dominated but progressive state of Punjab. She wished the function and the deliberation in the next two days a grand success.

Com. G.D. Nadaf, General Secretary, AIBOC dealt in detail about the Industry level developments and appreciated the Federation of BOIOAs for their lion’s share of participation and support extended to the Confederation. He declared that the rich Trade union principles and practices of being led by serving officers and succession planning are worth emulating. He expressed his happiness apart from these two ideologies both Federation of Bank of India Officers’ Associations and All India State Bank Officers’ Federation have similarities in many aspects. He concluded that the Managements should understand the practical difficulties of the officers and have bilateral talks to enhance relationship and growth of the Institution.

Shri. N. Seshadri, Executive Director of our Bank was very happy to address such a large gathering of officers and share his views and strategies. He thanked the Federation leaders for this opportunity. He discussed in detail people related and business related challenges ahead. He told that Management is aware of the difficulties faced by the officers and conveyed that success planning, superfast promotions, new recruitments, redistribution of work as per capability, enhancement of perquisites (financial/non financial) will be the focus areas for successful implementation of the future planning. He assured that officer’s organization will be taken into confidence and consulted with regard to any new challenges to be taken up by the Bank.

Com. A.K. Motayed in his Presidential address summed up the proceedings of the Inaugural session and assured the Finance Minister that our Federation will be working with a social conscience in their approach and contribute its might to ensure growth of Industry, Agriculture and the society as a whole.  He stressed that apart from Banking, our officers should have a social objective to uplift the downtrodden and serve the country.  In its true sense, he wanted the officers to be happy and serve the institution with happiness and make SANKALP-10000 to SANKALP-Happiness in the days to come.

The inaugural session ended with vote of thanks by Com. Ashok Sharma, General Secretary, North Western Unit.

In the business session, after adopting General Secretary’s report and resolutions, following office bearers for 2010 – 2013 are declared elected.
