AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 76 DATED 01.08.2011

AIBOC issued its circular No. 76 dated 01.08.2011 on conciliation talks held before CLC. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.76                                                          01.08.2011

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

CONCILIATION TALKS BEFORE CHIEF LABOUR COMMISSIONER - NO POSITIVE OUTCOME – ONE MORE ROUND OF CONCILIATION MEETING ON 3RD AUG, 2011 - HOWEVER, UFBU DECIDES TO CONTINUE WITH THE STRIKE CALL

In response to the strike notice served on the Indian Banks Association by the United Forum of Bank Unions, Mr. N K Prasad, Chief Labour Commissioner, Ministry of Labour, Government of India held a conciliation meeting today in his office at Shram Sakthi Bhavan, Delhi.

Representatives of the UFBU as well as the Indian Banks Association (IBA) were present in the conciliation meetings.

From UFBU we explained the demands in detail and urged upon the CLC to intervene for settlement of the issues.  IBA submitted their counter-response to our demands and virtually rejected our demands saying that some of the issues like compassionate appointment scheme, uniform staff housing loan scheme, etc. are pending consideration by the Government and many of the issues raised by UFBU are policy matters of the Government.  CLC exhorted the IBA and the Unions to explore the possibility to find solutions to the issues by bilateral talk’s atleast on those issues where IBA can take decisions.  With this, the conciliation proceedings have been deferred to 3-8-2011.

Going by today’s proceedings, it is clear that the IBA and Government are not taking our issues seriously and hence UFBU decided to go ahead with the strike call.

We call upon all our affiliates and members to implement the strike call and make the strike a total success.

With greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
