APPOINTMENT OF SERVING EMPLOYEES IN HIGHER GRADE IN THE SAME BANK THROUGH DIRECT RECRUITMENT

The Personnel Committee of IBA in its meeting held on 28th September 2011, considered the issue of appointment of serving workmen employees and officer employees in higher cadre in the same bank through direct recruitment as different practices were followed by different banks in this regard.

The Committee, after discussing in detail the issues involved especially on implementation of the 9th Bipartite Settlement and Joint Note extending another option for joining the pension scheme by those employees who did not opt for pension, introduction of New Pension Scheme to those who join the services of the bank on or after 01.04.2010, made the following recommendations.

(b)          An officer employee selected to Join in a higher post in the same bank, through direct recruitment, should resign from his earlier post and join the new post as a fresh candidate like any other candidate selected from outside. All the terminal benefits attached, to the earlier post should be settled as per the prevailing guidelines. He will not be eligible for any benefits of his earlier post in the new position.
(c)                No protection of last pay drawn in the earlier position should be considered.
