AIBOC issued its circular No. 70 dated 08th August 2012 on All India Strike on 22nd and 23rd August 2012. We are placing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO. 70                                                             8th August, 2012

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

IBA REMAINS UNRESPONSIVE – CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE - ALL INDIA STRIKE ON 22ND AND 23RD AUGUST, 2012 - BE READY FOR INSTANT STRIKE AGAINST BANKING LAW AMENDMENT BILL

We reproduce hereunder the text of the UFBU Circular No.20 dated 7th August, 2012 contents of which are self-explicit.

With greetings,
Sd/-
(D.S.RISHABADAS)
GENERAL SECRETARY

TEXT

We had earlier informed all our unions and members that a bipartite meeting was held between IBA and UFBU on 24-7-2012 as per the advice of the Dy. CLC.  While we had explained all our demands to the IBA in detail and emphasised the need for an amicable solution to the issues, the IBA has remained unresponsive till date.  In view of this, as decided in our UFBU meeting held after our discussions with the IBA, we have served the strike notice on IBA with the following programmes:

08-08-2012

Demonstrations in all State Capitals
Between 10th & 20th Aug. 2012
Demonstrations, postering, processions, rallies, Dharna, etc.

Instant Strike if the Bill is taken up in the Parliament for passage of Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2011
22nd  & 23rd Aug.  2012
2 Days ALL INDIA STRIKE

Main Issues and Demands:

SETTLE PENDING DEMANDS
STOP ARBITRARY GUIDELINES ON HR ISSUES
STOP UNILATERAL IMPLEMENTATION OF KHANDELWAL COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS
STOP OUTSOURCING OF BANK JOBS
STOP BANKING SECTOR REFORMS
STOP CLOSURE OF RURAL BRANCHES

Comrades, the agitation is forced upon us because of the casual attitude of the IBA and the policies of the Government.  All our unions and members are requested to implement the following programmes:
8-8-2012
Massive Demonstrations in all the State Capitals on the day the monsoon session of the Parliament Session begins
13-8-2012
Demonstrations in all centres / stations / branches all over the country.
14-8-2012
Letters to  IBA Chairman by all unions of constituents
21-8-2012
Demonstrations, Rallies, Processions in all centres / stations / branches all over the country.
22-8-2012 &
23-8-2012
TWO DAYS STAY OUT STRIKE ACTION

BE READY FOR INSTANT STRIKE:  It is also learnt that in the ensuing monsoon session of the Parliament, the Government is proposing to get the Banking Law Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament. The proposed amendments to the Banking Regulations Act and Bank Nationalisation Act are unwarranted and aimed at further de-regulating and liberalizing the banking sector with increasing voting rights for foreign and corporate investors, etc.  Hence, as decided in our last meeting, all our unions and members are requested to be ready for observing an instant strike if the Government would suddenly bring the Bill for consideration by the Parliament.

With regards,
Sd/-
(P.K.SARKAR)
CONVENOR
