We reproduce hereunder the text of the UFBU Circular No.23 dated 21st August, 2012 contents of which are self-explicit.

GENERAL SECRETARY

TEXT
As already informed to units, in response to the strike notice served by UFBU, the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India held a conciliation meeting today in his office in Delhi.  IBA representatives and UFBU representatives were present in this meeting.

From UFBU it was stated that with good intention, UFBU had deferred the strike last month and participated in the bilateral discussions with IBA with the hope to find amicable solutions but unfortunately IBA did not and could resolve any of the issues.   On the other side, despite our protests, the Government was bringing the Banking Laws Amendment Bill to the Parliament on 22-8-2012.  Hence the strike has been forced on the Unions.

IBA representatives while stating that they are open for discussions on our demands did not give any assurance to resolve the demands and on the other hand, virtually negated all our demands.

In view of this, there was no positive outcome and the conciliation talks failed to yield any results.

Hence, as scheduled, we shall implement the call for 2 days strike on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012.

Let us make the strike action on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012 a total success.

With regards,
Sd/-
(P.K.SARKAR)
CONVENOR

ONWARD TO STRIKE – ONWARD TO SUCCESS
