9TH TRIENNIAL GENERAL COUNCIL – ALL ROADS LEAD TO BHUBANESHWAR – BHUBANESHWAR GETS READY FOR GRAND CELEBRATIONS
The marching of Comrades to Bhubaneshwar is being signaled off by the leadership of the Confederation and the affiliates all over the country within a few days. Bhubaneshwar, the Capital of Orissa State is getting itself ready to host the historical 9th Triennial General Council of the All India Bank Officers; Confederation on 29th to 31st January 2011, in a grand manner, making all arrangements for receiving more than 2000 delegates, observers and activists from all parts of the country along with the local comrades. The State Unit and its members led by Shri Ganesh Mishra, the President and Shri A.K. Motayed, the Secretary of the Orissa State Unit have been in attendance to receive the members coming from all parts of the country and to take care of their comfortable stay during the 3 day celebrations.
The Working Committee, which met at Bangalore on 18th January 2011, had an occasion to review the preparations for the 9th Triennial General Council and all other related matters including the requirements of the Business Session, the General Secretary’s Report, the Resolutions on the amendments to the constitution of the Confederation, Statement of Accounts that are to be placed before the General Council, etc., apart from a thorough review of the arrangements that the State Committee has made for successful conduct of the Conference.
The leadership of the State Unit of Orissa Shri Ganesh Mishra, President was present in the meeting to discuss all the minute details and the last minute arrangements that are required for the grand gala function of 9th Triennial General Council. He also shared the finer aspects of the arrangements made for the smooth and successful conduct of the Council Meeting. They reported about the full details of the 3 days programme and were in readiness to carry out any last minute arrangements that were required by the Confederation. The entire rank and file across the country are looking forward to receive their hospitality and enjoy their stay at Bhubaneshwar in a memorable manner.
The headquarters has been working round the clock to the last point of the preparation and to ensure that the 9th Triennial General Council would enter the history of our movement as one of the glorious chapters and the epoch making event. The Council is meeting in the current environment, which is full of challenges and attacks on the trade union movement.
The Temple City of Bhubaneshwar is an appropriate place for the grand celebrations of our General Council. The City apart from its congenial atmosphere during this part of the year is expected to provide an excellent forum for a healthy and useful deliberation on all the subjects that are expected to figure both in the Inaugural Session on 29th January 2011, as well as the Business Session on 30th and 31st January 2011.
