CIRCULAR NO. : GS : 2011 : 004                                               Date: 14.01.2011

TO ALL OFFICERS                                                                  PLEASE CIRCULATE

Dear Friends,

MEETING CONDUCTED AT HYDERABAD ON 08TH JANUARY – A GRAND SUCCESS

You are aware that we have arranged a general meeting of the Officers at Hyderabad on 08th January 2011 on the visit of Sri A.R. Saifulla, President, All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation and General Secretary, Central Bank Officers’ Association, Tamil Nadu.

It is heartening to inform you that the meeting turned out to be a huge success with wholehearted participation of Officers despite short notice and disturbances in the State due separatist agitation.

More than 60 Officers attended the meeting with lot of enthusiasm and interest. We are very glad to inform you that Officers from Vijayawada Region have also attended the meeting though the meeting was arranged for the convenience of Officers working in and around Hyderabad. This only shows their commitment towards the Association and their dedication for the cause of Officers.

No words are enough to describe the enthusiasm shown by our members when Sri Saifulla, our beloved President, AICBOF entered the Hall. He was welcomed with thunderous slogans. It was also a rare occasion to witness when one of the most powerful leaders of Officers’ Movement in our Bank, greeted each and every Officer present in the Hall by going to their seats. With his down to earth approach, every one could say one thing - HATS OFF to the leader…

The meeting commenced at 6.00 p.m. by welcoming the dignitaries to the dais by Sri D.V. Krishna Rao, Sr. Vice-President of our Association. After welcoming Sri James Xavier, Chairman and Coordinator for State AIBOC, Sri K. Kumaraswamy, President, CBOA-AP, he welcomed our beloved President Sri A.R. Saifulla to the dais as Chief Guest amidst huge burst of applause. The undersigned along with Sri L. Prabhakara Rao, Treasurer was also invited to the dais. Sri K. Kumaraswamy, President, CBOA, presided over the meeting. After welcoming the dignitaries to the dais, Sri Saifulla, our Beloved President, was honoured with garland and bouquet by our Association.

While talking about the developments during the period from the last meeting, the undersigned had narrated as to how the rivals tried in the past to destabilize our Association with the tacit support of vested interests in the management. Our members were threatened with disciplinary actions on flimsy grounds and abrupt transfers to far away places. Every effort was made by these vested interests to force our members to shift their loyalties, ignoring the role of management, for which they have been posted at. He conveyed his sincere appreciation to the members for continuing their belief in the Association despite the adversities and keeping the flag high during the turbulent times.

He had also expressed serious concern about the trade union activities carried out by some of the Management Personnel at Regional Level ignoring the fact that normalcy had been restored at Zonal Level. They had not only forgotten their roles and responsibilities as Regional Heads, but also stepped into the shoes of Trade Unions. He had assured that Association had taken note of their activities and would initiate necessary measures to protect the interests of the membership.

While commencing his address, Sri A.R. Saifulla, our beloved President, first conveyed his sincere wishes on the eve of New Year and Makar Sankranti. He explained in detail about the alarming situation prevailing in the country in the backdrop of scams and deliberated at length about the discussions of our Federation had with Central Office Management on 30th December 2010. He informed that the Management had invited only our Federation to have discussions on important issues concerning the Officers. He had also informed that the Federation had demanded for withdrawal of Six Years Policy for Scale-I Officers, Restoration of Inter-Region Request Transfer facility along with immediate finalization of Fitment Formula for the Promotees from Clerical to Scale-I. He had enthralled the audience with his announcement that a positive outcome on these issues could be expected to surface within a short time. He requested the members not to fall prey with the rumors spread by the rival Unions, which had no locus stand on the Policy Matters.

He informed the gathering that only the Federation, as the recognized Majority Organization for Officers, could settle the Policy Issues and restore various benefits and facilities, which were withdrawn by the management under previous regime. He assured that the Federation would relentlessly fight for securing more benefits and facilities to the Officers of the Bank. He congratulated the members for attending the meeting in such a large number despite the short notice.

Later in the inter-action session, the participants raised queries on several issues including the Transfer and Promotion Policy, which were promptly and patiently clarified by Sri Saifulla to the satisfaction of one and all.

Thereafter, the Association along with the Regional Units felicitated Sri Saifulla, on his elevation as President of our Federation in a grand manner.

The meeting was concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Sri D.V. Krishna Rao, Senior Vice President of our Association.

Friends, the meeting turned out to be a memorable event though it was arranged in a short notice. The enthusiasm and zeal shown by the rank and file describes their sheer dedication for the cause of Officers’ Movement and their unstinted affiliation to our Association. This only establishes the fact that A.I.C.B.O.F. is the only Organisation in the Bank, which wages relentless fights against the management for the benefit of Officers working in the Bank.

Yours sincerely,
Sd/-
(C.A. MALLIKARJUNA RAO)
GENERAL SECRETARY
