UCO Bank reported a marked increase in both gross as well as net NPA and a marginal growth in return on assets on annualised percentage terms in the third quarter to December 31, 2010 against the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The quarter's non-performing asset levels went past the annual figures of 2009-10. The Kolkata-based bank's gross NPA of the Q3FY2010-11 stood at Rs 2,299.55 crore (Rs 1,493.23 crore) and net NPA was up to Rs 992.80 crore (Rs 657.37 crore). The identical non-performing asset figures, both at the gross and net levels, in the first three quarters of 2010-11 suggested that the NPAs arose only in the third quarter.
