AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 34 DATED 24.03.2010

AIBOC issued its circular No. 34 on constitution of Social Welfare Trust. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.34                         24.03.2010

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - FULL CONSTITUTION OF SOCIAL WELFARE TRUST

One of the issues that came up for discussion in the meeting of the Sub-Committee on the Silver Jubilee Celebrations held at Bangalore on 19th March 2010, was to re-constitute the Social Welfare Trust formed by the Confederation.  Our members may recollect that the Confederation had decided to set up a Social Trust during February, 2006 and to transfer 25% of the levy collected from the salary revision during the 8th bipartite from all our affiliates.  The Confederation thus completed all the necessary formalities of the formation of the Trust and got it registered accordingly. The Committee was of the unanimous view that the Trust should help the State Units by providing financial support to the various social welfare activities that are being planned by them. The modalities and the quantum etc., will be decided by the Sub-Committee in due course in consultation with the leadership of the Confederation. In order to take up the task on urgent basis it was decided to take necessary steps for conduct of the Trust meeting to get its clearance for the various proposals that may be forwarded by various State Units during the period of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Confederation.

The members of the Committee were of the opinion that in view of the fact that three senior leaders who were the members of the Trust have retired from the active service and the Trust at present has only two members who are on active service, the Trust needs to be reconstituted by filling-up all the vacancies.  Accordingly, it was decided that the Confederation should take necessary steps to constitute the full Trust and arrange to fix up the meeting of the Trust at the earliest, so that the activities that are to be taken up for the purpose of discharging our responsibility towards the social cause can be effectively implemented.

In the meanwhile, the State Units/Affiliates are requested to await guidance in the matter.

With greetings,

Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
