CIRCULAR NO.32          22.03.2010

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

CONCLAVE OF LEADERSHIP OF THE CONFEDERATION
One of the subjects which came up for the discussions in the Executive Committee meeting held at Panjim:Goa on 17th February, 2010 as also the meeting of the General Secretaries of Affiliates and the Secretaries of the State Units held in connection with the preparations for conduct of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, at Bangalore on 19th of March 2010, was the holding of the Conclave of the leadership of the Confederation represented by the senior leaders of the affiliates in connection with the future of the Confederation and its responsible role in ensuring the consolidation of the supervisory cadre in the country and also to face several challenges that are ahead of us in protecting the interests of the common man.  Our members are aware that the Confederation devoted its energies in carrying forward the crusade against the ill advised moves of the Government and its attempt to dismantle the public sector units and hand over the same to the multinationals while pursuing its core issue of consolidating the trade union movement and helping the supervisory cadre to get organized themselves on the lines of the trade unions.  The Executive Committee was of the view that there is a need to have a through debate and take stock of the situation and the performance of the Confederation during the last 25 years, taking into account the crucial role played by it in the interest of the trade union movement. The Executive Committee was also of the unanimous view that the self introspection and the review of our performance is a healthy sign of a growing organisation and hence there has to be an exclusive debate and discussion on all these matters of concern amongst the top leaders of all the affiliates under the guidance of the Confederation.
Hence, it has now been decided to hold the Conclave of the senior leaders of all the affiliates of the Confederation on 15th and 16th of May 2010. The venue of the conclave will be advised later.  The modalities of the conduct of the programme and other details are being worked out by the Headquarters and will be advised to all the affiliates in due course.  The General Secretaries of the affiliates should keep these dates free to participate in the programme without fail.  The attendance by the office-bearers concerned is compulsory and for the sake of good order, it is suggested that the representation by other than these office-bearers should be avoided.
The representatives should be available at the venue by evening of 14th May, 2010 and they can make their return plan from 17th morning onwards, so that the two full days are at our disposal and a meaningful participation can be ensured by all the participants.
All our affiliates are requested to make arrangements accordingly.
With greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
