“RENT REIMBURSEMENT FOR OFFICERS
We reproduce hereunder our communication to the management for your information.
“This is in continuation to our Joint Discussion held on 26th and 27th April 2012, wherein we have pointed out the urgency of enhancing the rent reimbursement ceilings for the Officers. We have also brought to your notice that even the rent ceilings introduced by other comparable banks are much higher than our Bank. We also understand that these Banks have already initiated the process for further enhancing the rent ceiling. In this respect we would also like to state:
It is really pathetic that the Officers of our Bank are being forced to pay huge amounts from their pockets for acquiring the house due to delay on the part of the Management.
When the officers of other Banks staying in the Societies, where our Officers are trying to get a house are being reimbursed 30 to 40% more rent than our Officers, How to get a house within the meager rent reimbursement ceilings being continued in our Bank? Under these circumstances, either a concerned officer has to shell out huge amounts per month from the Salary or have to search a house further 20 to 30 kms away.
If the officer pays from his/her salary, the balance take home salary will not be sufficient for his livelihood and if he chooses to take a house at a long distance, additional 2 to 3 hours are required for commutation. This is putting the officers in serious financial problems and mental tensions, besides adversely affecting the performance at the work place.
In such a situation, when the officer remains perturbed due to heavy financial burden, how to concentrate on performance is a moot point.
It is really a sorry state of affairs that such an important issue concerning the officers in lower scales which is directly related with the satisfaction and motivation of the officers is being dealt with least priority.
In view of the above, we demand that the matter of enhancing the rent reimbursement ceilings should be immediately finalized in consultation with our Federation to protect the sanctity of bilateralism”
We hope the management will understand the seriousness of the above matter and will take positive steps in the interest of the officers’ community of our Bank.
PROMOTIONAL PLACEMENTS OF SCALE-I TO II OFFICERS
You are aware that our FEDERATION had protested the managements’ unjustified decisions of violating the placement norms in the case of Scale-I to II promotee officers.
We are pleased to inform you that:
Our Management has corrected the chain transfers on placements of otherwise retainable officers who were placed to other zones to complete rural and placed back to Bhopal zone, as per the policy.
Preference to the Lady Promotee Officers was also restored in 4 to 5 zones.
The request of officers, who have completed their minimum tenure of two years in the North Eastern Regions were also considered and placed on promotion to their choice.
We are thankful to the administration for such corrections that too after it was pointed out by our Federation. We are confident that if our administration extends still more empathy at all levels, the entire officers will automatically ensure unhindered progress of our Bank in the days to come, in spite of the challenges ahead of us.
There are still other matters which will be dealt by us in due course. However the reality remains that only the efforts of the Federation, in spite of all hurdles, have made it possible.
The innumerable phone calls, letters, SMS messages and faxes are the indicators of the high level of confidence of the officers in the Federation. We are proud of the same. Please continue the same spirit.
IT IS YOUR FEDERATION.
We convey our Best wishes to all the Promotees
WITH GREETINGS,
Yours Sincerely,
