 “SHRI N.K.PAREEK, PRESIDENT, AICBOF RETIRES
The President of All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation, Shri N.K.Pareek retired from the services of the bank on 30th June 2010.  In a colourful function coinciding with the General Body Conference of Rajasthan Unit on 27th June 2010, Shri Pareek was felicitated by the organization. Shri Ramnath Pradip, Executive Director of the bank in his address to the House lauded the contribution made by Shri Pareek as Officer Director on the Board of the bank.  Shri Pradip said that Shri Pareek played a very constructive role in the Board as well as in the Management and other Committees, particularly in the field of credit. The observations and suggestions made by Shri Pareek have always been given a deep thought, the Executive Director said.

Shri R.C.Agarwal, former General Secretary of our Federation and Ex-President of AIBOC remembered the support extended by Shri Pareek as President in the smooth running of the Federation. He said that all through his service, Shri Pareek has involved himself in the organizational activities and has always been in forefront to extend help to the officers in resolving their grievances.

Shri Pareek joined Central Bank of India in February 1970 and was promoted under All India Services as an officer in April 1977. He is very highly qualified with a M.Com, LLB & CAIIB to his credit. He was promoted to Scale II in July 1984 and thereafter he did not participate in the promotion processes and dedicated himself to the cause of officers.

He has held many positions in CBOA, Mumbai Unit and AICBOF. He was elected Dy.General Secretary of the Federation in October 1988. Consequent upon the death of the President of our Federation Shri F.K.Doctor in 1997, Shri Pareek was the natural choice for the coveted post of President of the Federation. He has served as Director on the Board of the bank during the period 2006-2009 representing the Officers’ Community.

He was elected as the General Secretary of CBOA, Rajasthan in March 1984 which position he continued to hold till June 2010. He was also the President of AIBOC Rajasthan State from 1990 to June 2010.

His tenure in the organization is also marked with struggle of the officers in Central Bank of India. During the agitation in 1988-89, 1991and 1996-97,  Rajasthan Unit remained in the forefront in successful implementation of the call of the organization with its militant solidarity. The casualties during the agitation progarmme of 1996-97 were huge. The management had resorted to all types of victimization actions against the officers to suppress the agitation by suspending 14 officers, issuing more than 250 charge sheets and transferring over 200 officers. Some of these officers had been transferred in a matter of days and weeks several times. There were also 12 criminal FIRs filed against the officers by the management to crush the agitation. The leadership provided by Shri Pareek during this critical period in carrying out the successful implementation of the agitation programme with maturity as well as boosting the morale of the officers was really commendable.

His contribution in running the affairs of the Federation, its development and in shaping the future of the Federation is immeasurable.

In the felicitation function held at Jaipur, Shri D.S.Bhadauria, General Secretary, AICBOF, Shri Y.S.Kumar, Treasurer, AICBOF, Shri Hansraj Singh, General Secretary, CBOA, Delhi, Shri Dalip Sharma, General Secretary, CBOA, Chandigarh Unit and Joint Secretary of Federation and Shri Manoj Wadnerkar, General Secretary, CBOA, Mumbai & Asst. Secretary, AICBOF reminisced about their association with Shri Pareek.

The Rajasthan Unit felicitated Smt. & Shri N.K.Pareek. Many of the affiliates of AIBOC, sister organizations in our bank and others felicitated Shri Pareek.

The House passed a Resolution appreciating the services rendered by Shri Pareek to the organization and for the officers’ cause.

Our Federation has become poorer on account of the retirement of Shri Pareek. We wish Shri Pareek a happy, active and healthy retired life.”

Yours sincerely,
