AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 114 DATED 06.08.2010

AIBOC issued its circular No. 114 on the agitation by the Andhra Bank Officers’ Federation against the provocative attitude of the management of Andhra Bank. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO. 114                                   Date:06.08.2010

To,
All Our Affiliates /Members

ANDHRA BANK OFFICERS’ FEDERATION ON AGITATION AGAINST THE PROVOCATIVE ATTITUDE OF THE MANAGEMENT LEADING TO STRAINED INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS.

Our affiliate in Andhra Bank is again on a warpath against the Management of the Bank, who have taken an adamant stand on many issues including unfair practices adopted by the Management, unilateral alterations of service conditions, non resolution of pending issues, in case of both workmen and officers. Both the recognised and majority unions in the Bank i.e our affiliate The All India Andhra Bank Officers’ Federation and All India Andhra Bank Award Employees’ Union (AIBEA) have launched joint agitation in Andhra Bank commencing from 28.7.2010, culminating in a day’s All India strike on 18.08.2010, preceded by massive action programmes such as demonstrations, joint Dharna, etc.

The Officers’ Federation and the Union have tried their best to convince the Management not to resort to any arbitrary or unilateral actions and submitted joint memorandum on several occasions against the provocative, adamant stand of the Management. This has provoked the officers and employees and has caused severe discontent, resentment and unrest among them.

As the Management proceeded with its wrongful, arbitrary and provocative actions, the Federation and the Union were left with no alternative except to resort to  collective  actions to express their resentment against the anti- employee stand of the Management. This is for the first time in the history of Andhra Bank, a joint action has been launched on internal issues. We hope the Management will wake up from its deep slumber and respond to the demands of the unions in a positive and proactive manner.

A cursory look at the issues involved clearly indicates that the demands of the Federation and Union are genuine. We call upon all our affiliates to extend fraternal support to all the action programmes jointly launched by the Federation and the Union, in a sprit of solidarity with the cause of our comrades in Andhra Bank by participating whole heartedly in the demonstrations, dharnas etc. and make all their action programmes a big success.
