NEARLY 7.5 LAKH EMPLOYEES TO BENEFIT FROM WAGE REVISION: IBA

Indian Banks' Association (IBA) said that 7.5 lakh bank employees are likely to benefit from the agreed wage-hike between IBA and the unions while a second pension option will benefit nearly 2.72 lakh serving and 60000 retired staff.
IBA agreed to the demands of the unions after prolonged discussions and stand-off, which lasted for more than two years. Unions had struck work several times during this period to press for their demands.
