CBOA-KARNATAKA CIRCULAR NO. 1 DATED 29.08.2011

Central Bank Officers’ Association, Karnataka, affiliated to All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation and All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, has conducted its General Body on 28th August at Bangalore. The unit has issued its circular No. 1 on General Body Conference. We are placing the same here for our readers as Karnataka Unit is an integral part of Hyderabad Zone.

REG:   10TH BIENNIAL GENERAL BODY CONFERENCE HELD AT BANGALORE ON 28TH AUGUST 2011 – A GLOROIUS EVENT

We are very happy to inform you that the 10th Biennial General Body Conference of our Association was conducted on 28th August, 2011 at Hotel Due Drops, Bangalore. The Conference Hall and the surroundings were decorated with banners and flags which gave festive look. Members from all over the State, including lady members, attended the Conference, with lot of enthusiasm and interest. The Conference was conducted in a most systematic and disciplined manner.

The Inaugural Session commenced at 10.30 a.m. Sri T. Nagaraju, Regional Secretary, Central Bank Officers’ Association, Bangalore Regional Unit invited the dignitaries to the dias. The Conference was invoked with prayer by Ms. Henna, Asst. Manager, Koramangala. The undersigned in the Welcome Address extended a warm welcome to the Dignitaries on dias viz. Sri D.S. Bhadauria, General Secretary, All India Central Bank Officers’ Federation, Sri N.K. Balakrishnan, Dy. General Manager, Bangalore Region, Sri B.S. Ravindra, Secretary, A.I.B.O.C., Karnataka State, who has delivered Key Note Address and Sri Y.S. Kumar, Treasurer, A.I.C.B.O.F. The undersigned also extended warm welcome to Sri C.A. Mallikarjuna Rao, General Secretary, C.B.O.A., Andhra Pradesh, Sri J. Selvaraj, Vice-President, C.B.O.A., Andhra Pradesh, Sri K. Jaya Rao and Sri A.N. Kulkarni, Ex-Presidents, C.B.O.A., Karnataka and other CENTRALITES. The meeting was presided over by Sri S Jaganath, Senior Most member of our Unit.

Sri D.S. Bhaduaria, General Secreary, A.I.C.B.O.F. inaugurated the Conference by lighting the traditional lamp along with Sri N.K. Balakrishnan and Sri B.S. Ravindra. Later all the dignitaries on the dias were honored with garlands and shawls following the tradition.

Sri D.S. Bhadauria, in his inaugural address, informed the latest developments in the Banking Industry in general and in our Bank in particular. He appraised about severe shortage of officers and management’s attitude towards officers. He informed that Karnataka unit has its unique place in Federation without relating to the membership size. He stressed upon the need to increase its membership position and regain its prime position in the State.

While addressing the gathering, Sri N.K. Balakrishnan, Dy. General Manager, conveyed the progress made by the Bank in the Region. He appealed to all CENTRALITES to put in their best efforts for improving the share of CASA and stressed the need of gaining past glory of our Bank during the Centenary Year. It is noteworthy to mention that he would protect the Branch Managers for their genuine business decisions. He also conveyed his best wishes to our Association.

Sri B.S. Ravindra, Secretary, A.I.B.O.C., Karnataka, Guest of Honor, informed the developments in the Banking Industry and his relationship with Central Bank of India. He informed that the Government has been making every effort to amend the Banking Laws which would not be in the interest of either the public or the staff members. His inspirational speech was well acclaimed by the participants.

Sri Y.S. Kumar deliberated at length about the situation prevalent in the Bank and the management’s attitude towards the officers. He also explained in detail about the efforts of the Federation in settling the issues of the Officers with the management. He has volunteered to associate with the activities of the Unit once he settles at Bangalore after his retirement.

The inaugural session was concluded with vote of thanks by Sri Koothaiyan, Sr. Manager, C.C.P.C., Bangalore.

During the business session, held after lunch, elections to the unit were conducted by Sri D.S. Bhadauria, General Secretary, A.I.C.B.O.F. and Sri Y.S. Kumar, Treasurer, A.I.C.B.O.F. as Election Officers, with the approval of the house. Sri D.S. Bhadauria declared that only one panel of names of Office Bearers / Managing Committee Members was submitted by the undersigned along with Sri Mohan Kumar. Sri D.S. Bhadauria declared the panel as unanimously elected and read out the names to the applause of members. The list of Office Bearers/Managing Committee Members is enclosed.

After the election process, the newly elected General Secretary, conveyed gratitude to all the members for reposing confidence and electing the panel unanimously. He has also requested the members to extend cooperation in development of the Association. All the newly elected Office Bearers and the Managing Committee members assured that they would work hard to achieve the goals of the Association.

Later the house passed Amendments to the Constitution on tenure of the Committee by making it triennial from biennial. Resolutions on some important matters were adopted and passed unanimously by the members present.

The business session concluded with vote of thanks by Sri T. Nagaraju, the newly elected Dy. General Secretary of our Association. The Conference proceedings were conducted in a systematic manner, which was appreciated by all the members. All the dignitaries participated in the meetings have lauded the efforts made by our Unit in conducting the conference successfully.

Friends, this Conference is a memorable event. The enthusiastic participation of the members and their involvement in the Association have not only given strength to the Office Bearers but also laid a higher responsibility on the shoulders of Office Bearers in strengthening the Organisation.

We thank all our members for their contribution in successfully conducting the General Body Conference. We assure you that the newly elected Office Bearers would strive hard and put every effort for the development of the Association and resolving the members’ grievances.
