INCREASE IN QUANTUM OF HOUSING LOAN TO RS.20 LAKHS FOR OFFICERS

The issue of increasing the quantum of Housing Loan for the officers had been discussed in the Joint Discussions held on 4th & 5th August 2010. We had demanded that there was a necessity to increase the Housing Loan quantum, looking into the steep increase in the cost of flats, plots, houses etc.  Further many of the banks like State Bank of India,

Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India etc had already increased the Housing Loan quantum to Rs.20 lakhs. We had informed you of this issue in our circular dated 10th November 2010.

During the Joint Discussions, the management had agreed to consider the request of the Federation after calling for the details of the scheme introduced in various banks.

We are happy to inform you that the management has now decided to increase the Housing Loan quantum to Rs.20 lakhs for officers with a simple interest rate of 8%. Circular giving complete details of the scheme along with the terms and conditions is expected to be issued shortly. With this, the officers can now hope to buy a reasonable housing accommodation.

In the meanwhile, AIBOC has taken up the matter with IBA/Government for increasing the Housing Loan quantum to Rs.30 lakhs.

Yours sincerely,
Sd/-
