Indian banks sold certificates of deposits (CDs) worth Rs 3.85 billion on Monday, Thomson Reuters data showed. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur sold notes maturing on Jan. 3, 2011 at 6.8 per cent to raise Rs 2.25 billion.
The state-run bank also sold Rs 1 billion of one-year notes at 7.1 per cent. South Indian Bank raised Rs 600 million of notes maturing on November 1 at 6.9 per cent.
The fixing for the yield on the three-month Reuters CD benchmark fell to 6.4 per cent, from Friday's fixing of 6.45 per cent, while secondary volumes fell to Rs 3 billion from Rs 3.35 billion.
Central Bank of India had issued CDs worth Rs 3.25 billion on Friday. For the week to July 16, total CD issuance amounted to Rs 28.85 billion compared with Rs 22.6 billion a week earlier.
