Union Bank of India today said that Mr D. Sarkar has taken over as its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) with effect from April 1.
According to a BSE filing, Mr Sarkar replaces Mr M.V. Nair, who headed the bank for six years.
Prior to this, Mr Sarkar was Executive Director of the Kolkata-based Allahabad Bank. He started his career with Bank of Baroda in 1982.
