CIRCULAR NO.13 07.02.2011
TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:
9TH GENERAL COUNCIL – GRAND GALA EVENT CONCLUDED - CURTAINS DRAWN – DELEGATES AND OBSERVERS BID FAREWELL TO THE TEMPLE CITY OF BHUBANESHWAR– HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS AND LEADERS OF STATE OF ORISSA REMEMBERED
It was with a heavy heart the leaders, the delegates and observers who had assembled in a large number from across the country representing their affiliated organizations to participate in the historic 9th Triennial General Council on 29th to 31st January, 2011, bid a farewell to the Temple City of Bhubaneshwar carrying the nostalgic moments of the Council deliberations and the historic events that unfolded during these three days. The City of Bhubaneshwar was a witness to each and every moment of this great happening in the Confederation. The delegates and observers numbers 1500, were highly impressed with the volunteer force who were at the beck and call of each and every member, who had come from every nook and corner of the country to participate in this grand gala event.
The three days stay was full of events, which not only reinforced our faith in the collectivism of the membership across the country but also sent a strong signal to the entire world that, the Confederation shall be the only hope and future of the supervisory cadre trade union movement in the country. The discipline, solidarity and unity displayed by the rank and file during their stay, was an eye sore to our detractors and rivals in the banking industry. The colourful procession which was led by folk artists of Orissawaded through the important roads of the City, attracted the attention of the locals who had never witnessed such a mammoth gathering of around 4000 white collared workers, that too marching in a highly disciplined manner spreading the message of the Confederation across the City, before they assembled at Utkal Mandap, the Open Air Auditorium, which could not accommodate such a mammoth gathering as many of our colleagues had to watch the entire deliberations from outside the auditorium through the CCTV Screen. The participants were enthralled and regaled with the soul stirring Cultural Programme, which demonstrated the rich Odissi Dance form of the State of Orissa and spread the message of oneness amongst the members across the country and inspired the audience to imbibe the qualities of unity and solidarity amongst the rank and file.
The arrangements at the Inaugural Session were unique. The ambience of the Open Air Auditorium and the deliberations were highly inspiring. It was followed by a sumptuous and delicious lunch served to such a large number of people without any hassle, is ample testimony to the organising ability and skills of the leaders of State Unit.
The Business Session was a different atmosphere. It was an ethereal atmosphere of dedication, commitment and sacrifice. The entire environment was highly inspiring for the members who were present in the campus, which is an epitome of the struggles and sacrifices of one single individual who shared his experience and enthralled the entire audience when he was invited to the dais. His story of building Institutions of international reputation, is stranger than fiction. His sublime efforts to offer education from K.G to P.G, free of cost to more than 12,000 Tribal Children of India, kept him on a high pedestal of glory. He was none other than Shri. Achut Samanth the CEO of the KIIT and KISS, and an illustrious son of the soil. As a token of our appreciation of his efforts a small donation Rs.1 lac was offered to the Kalinga Institute of Social Science.
The role played by the leaders of State Unit Com.Ganesh.C.Mishra, President and Com.A.K.Motayed, Secretary of the State Unit, along with their colleague office-bearers supported by innumerable volunteers were responsible for lining up each and every activity in a highly, clinically precise manner and ensured the successful conduct of each and every activity. The two days business session was made lively through the active participation of the delegates and the leaders of the Confederation and the volunteers ensured that the participants are looked after very well and there was round the clock supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and snacks so that the participants are not subjected to fatigue.
Com.P.K.Sarkar, the President and Com.G.D.Nadaf, the General Secretary and all other senior leaders of the Confederation paid rich tributes to the leadership of the State Unit and their ever smiling, untiring volunteers who were responsible for the highly successful conduct of the 9th Triennial General Council in a grand gala manner. The Confederation proved yet again that it is a mass organization and there is no scope for resting on the past laurels for the leaders who have been entrusted with the future responsibility of the organization until we meet at the 10th Triennial General Council. The entire success of the conduct of the 9th Triennial General Council therefore belongs to the leadership of the State Unit and their colleagues with hundreds of volunteer force who spent their valuable time for over one month in planning each and every activity in an immaculate manner to deliver the final pudding to the participants in the Council. Let us therefore record our gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Confederation to each and every one of our members in the Orissa State Unit for their marvellous performance and making the 9th General Council a memorable event in the history of our movement. We once again convey our heartfelt thanks to them through Com.Ganesh.C.Mishra, General Secretary and Com.A.K.Motayed, President of the State Unit for their splendid performance.
With revolutionary greetings,
