CIRCULAR NO.63                                                      12.05.2010

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - CONCLAVE OF GENERAL SECRETARIES OF AFFILIATES ON 15TH&16TH MAY, 2010 AT IDUKKI, KERALA - BRAIN STORMING EXERCISE TO CHALK OUT FUTURISTIC VIEW OF THE CONFEDERATION

One of the activities that was decided in connection with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Confederation was to take an overall view of the current environment with particular reference to the trade union fraternity in the country and to arrive at a futuristic direction to the Confederation.  It is but natural to review our achievements, successes, struggles and sacrifices during the last 25 years of its existence and analyse the impact of the Officers’ movement in the supervisory cadre in our country during this period.  The Executive Committee of the Confederation while drawing up an action plan for the next 6 months for the purpose of campaigning on the role of the Confederation over the last 25 years and its achievements all over the country culminating in the valedictory celebrations at New Delhi on 6th October 2010. They are also conscious about the need for having a well thought out future programme for this great movement, and the strategies to be worked out in ensuring this journey to reach the next important mile stone.  The Confederation is known for its pragmatic approach, its conviction and commitment to the common cause of the people of this country and hence has been always in the forefront in all the struggles which aims at the protection of the interests of the common man that include the working class as well.  Hence, a futuristic approach has to be thought over by the present leadership so that the objectives for which this great organization was formed will continue to be our major focus in all our future endeavours.

The Executive committee had therefore decided to hold Conclave of General Secretaries of the affiliates and to have 2 days brain storming exercise to consider the various aspects of our movement and its future approach, while ensuring that the interest of the working class is kept uppermost in our mind.  Accordingly, all arrangements have been made to hold the 2 days programme at Vagamon Hide Out, Idukki, Kerala on 15th & 16th May, 2010.

It would also provide an opportunity to decide about the various national issues that are affecting the common man with the focus in carrying forward our struggle to protect the interest of the common man.  The Conclave will also provide an opportunity to consider the various issues pending before the banking industry and to chalk out our future course of action in ensuring the primacy of the banking industry under the Public Sector.

The National Conclave of General Secretaries of our affiliates is yet another new initiative of the Confederation which is bound to yield good results and enhance the reputation of the Confederation, as one of the important trade unions in the country.

All our affiliates/members are requested to await further developments in this regard.

With greetings,
Sd/-
(G.D. NADAF)
GENERAL SECRETARY
