We quote below the UFBU circular of date on the captioned subject for your information.

QUOTE
“The strike call given by the UFBU was a thunderous success. Two days strike action on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012 was marked by mass rallies demonstrations and attended by large number of Bank employees and Officers in front of Head Offices, Administrative Officers and Branches all over the country. More than 10 lac employees and officers working in the Banking Industry comprising of Public Sector and Private Sector Banks struck work demanding for early resolution of the following issues.

  • OPPOSING BANKING SECTOR REFORMS
  • OPPOSING UNILATERAL IMPLEMENTATION OF KHANDELWAL COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS
  • OPPOSING OUTSOURCING OF BANK JOBS
  • OPPOSING ARBITRARY GUIDELINES ON HR ISSUES
  • OPPOSING CLOSURE OF RURAL BRANCHES
  • DEMANDING SETTLEMENT OF LONG PENDING DEMANDS

The mass rallies held all over the country were addressed by the leaders of UFBU who condemned the lackadaisical approach of IBA and the Government on the issues raised by the UFBU, which have far reaching ramifications on the future of the Banking Industry.

We heartily congratulate our friends all over the country for their whole hearted efforts in making the strike action a big success and for the solid show of strength.

We also thank all the Officers in financial sector who have extended fraternal support to our struggle. We shall keep you informed for further developments”

Friends, we are happy to inform that the strike was TOTAL, as far as our Bank is concerned. Even the branches kept open wore a deserted look and could not do any business transaction Our members participated in large number in all the rallies conducted by UFBU at various centres. We take this opportunity to record our deep sense of gratitude to each and every one of our Friends, who made the strike call a total success.

LONG LIVE OUR UNITY  !”

“POSTINGS IN SCALE-I TO II PROMOTION PROCESS –
DEFERMENT OF DATE OF REPORTING

All of you are aware that we had taken up the matter with the management about the unacceptable violations of the policies of posting of the promotees of Scale-I to II officers, which was elaborated in our Circular No.29 dated 18TH Aug, 2012 and requested the management to remove injustice done to large number of promoted officers.

We are happy to inform you that the management has agreed to set right the violations and postponed the reporting date to 3rd Sep, 2012.

Await further communications.

KIND REGARDS,

Yours Sincerely,

AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 74 DATED 21.08.2012

AIBOC issued its circular No. 74 dated 21.08.2012 on conciliation talks with C.L.C. We are placing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO.74                                              21st August, 2012

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

TODAY’S CONCILIATION TALKS FAILED – BANKING BILL COMING UP BEFORE PARLIAMENT ON 22ND -  GOVT/IBA NOT COMING FORWARD TO RESOLVE OUR DEMANDS – GO AHEAD WITH 2 DAYS STRTIKE ON 22ND AND 23RD AUGUST. 2012 – MAKE IT A RESOUNDING SUCCESS

We reproduce hereunder the text of the UFBU Circular No.23 dated 21st August, 2012 contents of which are self-explicit.

With greetings,
Sd/-
(D.S.RISHABADAS)
GENERAL SECRETARY

TEXT
As already informed to units, in response to the strike notice served by UFBU, the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India held a conciliation meeting today in his office in Delhi.  IBA representatives and UFBU representatives were present in this meeting.

From UFBU it was stated that with good intention, UFBU had deferred the strike last month and participated in the bilateral discussions with IBA with the hope to find amicable solutions but unfortunately IBA did not and could resolve any of the issues.   On the other side, despite our protests, the Government was bringing the Banking Laws Amendment Bill to the Parliament on 22-8-2012.  Hence the strike has been forced on the Unions.

IBA representatives while stating that they are open for discussions on our demands did not give any assurance to resolve the demands and on the other hand, virtually negated all our demands.

In view of this, there was no positive outcome and the conciliation talks failed to yield any results.

Hence, as scheduled, we shall implement the call for 2 days strike on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012.

Let us make the strike action on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012 a total success.

With regards,
Sd/-
