AIBOC CIRCULAR NO. 88 DATED 8TH JUNE 2010

AIBOC issued its circular No. 88 on the agitation in Bank of Rajasthan. We are reproducing the same here for our readers.

CIRCULAR NO:88                                8th JUNE, 2010

TO ALL AFFILIATES/MEMBERS:

EMPLOYEES AND OFFICERS OF BANK OF RAJASTHAN TO OBSERVE THREE DAYS STRIKE ON 21st, 22nd & 23RD JUNE 2010

The pressure is building up. The employees and Officers of the Bank of Rajasthan under the banner of United Forum of Bank of Rajasthan Unions have issued a strike notice to the Bank and the other concerned, indicating their decision to observe three days strike on 21st June to 23rd June instead of 17th to 19th June in view of the fact that, a special meeting of the Share holders has been convened on 21st June, 2010 to obtain the approval of the General Body of Share holders for the merger of Bank of Rajasthan with ICICI Bank. The All-out preparations for the strike are on.

We also understand that, the State Units of AIBEA and also NOBW in Rajasthan have also decided to go for one day sympathy strike in support of the striking employees on 21st June 2010 throughout the State of Rajasthan in all the Banks. These initiatives are bound to create a strong move against the proposed merger and the sinister design of the Managements of both the Banks to proceed with the implementation of their earlier resolutions of the respective Boards.

The Rajasthan State Unit of AIBOC met and debated the issue threadbare.  While, they have decided to fully endorse the decision of the unions in the Bank of Rajasthan in particular our affiliate in the Bank have called for total support to the strike action. They have also chalked out a number of programmes to extend their fraternal support to the striking employees and officers in Bank of Rajasthan. The Confederation after due consultation with the leaders of all the affiliates have decided to extend full fraternal support to the striking employees and participate in all the rallies and demonstrations which are being organized by them as per the details furnished below:-
