Employees and Officers affiliated with All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and All India Bank Officers' Association (AIBOA) plan to go on a one-day strike on December 16 to protest the move to merge state-owned banks. The striking employees and officers are also protesting the ongoing move to merge State Bank of Indore with State Bank of India.
Mr. C.H. Venkatachalam, General Secretary, AIBEA has termed the mergers move as closure of public sector banks.
